it was time for Sydney's first bath. She was not too fond of the idea, however no matter what she was going to get clean. I just think she looks cute in her little bath towel.
Here is a video of Sydney's first bath. For the first time I learned the difference between her hungry and mad cry. However, after a little bit she stopped crying and actually looked like she was enjoying it ( well for the most part). I do have to say that this little girl has no fat on her so far. Okay, here is the long awaited story about our precious Sydney. It all started on 3 pm on Monday Sept. 24, Quinton and I went to my routine Doctors Apt. to do some routine tests on me. They kept on seeing some dips in Sydney's heart rate that made no sense and my blood pressure was high and rising. So after a while they decided to send us over to the hospital for some "prolonge
d monitoring" as they called it. After some more tests and hours later they decided to induce me at 11:30 pm. They gave me a drug at midnight that thinned out my cervix ( which this drug can also put you into labor). At 5 am. I can 
remember feeling some sharp pains in my stomach and by 6 am. I was in full blown labor. At first it actually was not that bad. However, at 9:45 am they checked my cervix again and discovered that I was 4 cm dilated. At that time I decided that I could not take anymore
and requested the Epidural. I was just proud of my self for making it to 4 cm without drugs. After receiving the Epidural ( which is a experience in itself) I could not stay awake at all ( I know that sounds weird but I really could not stay awake). So Quinton and I took a hour nap. After our
wonderful nap the nurses checked my cervix again at 11:30 am. And you guessed it, I was 10 cm dilated. So between 10 - 11:30 am I dilated from 4- 10 cm and I slept through it all. At noon I started pushing, and pushing and some more pushing. One hour went by, still more pushing, then 2 hours went by, still more pushing. My body
could not take all that pushing, I was physically exhausted and found myself sleeping in between contractions. I was trying my hardest to stay awake but could not for the life of me. So since I could not stay awake the nurses finally decided to let me sleep for 15 min. Finally after 2 1/2 hours ( almost 3 depends on who you talk to) the nurses called in the doctor. With 2 big pushes and some help from a vacuum little Sydney Malia 
Montgomery was born at 2:46 pm on Tuesday Sept 25, 2007. Weighing 5 lb 11 1/2 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Sydney had some troubles entering this world. She really was not breathing 
for about 5 min. after she was born. I just remember a lot of people were working with her to help her breathe. I saw her for about 10 seconds before they rushed her to the NICU. Her poor little body and especially her head was hurting terribly. After being stabilized you just heard a little whiper coming from 
this even smaller body. She hurt so bad. Unfortunately Sydney had such a traumatic experience coming to this world and many little problems that the nurses took extreme precautions with her. She was on IV fluid for 2 days even before they introduced my milk to her. To make a very long story shorter, Sydney was in the NICU for 5 days. We all came home from the hospital on Monday Oct.1. She is doing better and better everyday now. She is as beautiful as ever and I can not believe on h
ow I love something so much instantly. Quinton and I just look at her all the time in amazement that she is ours. I can not possibly imagine my life without. So far all 11 days of motherhood have been wonderful. Quinton and I would just like to thank everyone for all of your phone calls, visits and prayers. I know that Sydney is doing as well as she is with only help from our lord and Savior. We all hope you all are doing 
well and we will keep you posted on Sydney's progress.

iked to sit and have some "man talk" with Justin. While the men were relaxing Tiffany and I were making a incredible cake. MMM it was so good. After spending the afternoon with our friends Quinton and I went to his parents house for some dinner (which was excellent as well). We just ate, talked, did some more relaxing and talked some more. It truly was a great day to have with Quinton before the baby comes. Speaking of the baby, I am 36 weeks now ( 4 more to go!!!). Sydney is getting bigger and stronger. I am starting 
to become uncomfortable, but not miserable yet. However, I am getting there real soon. I know that the waking up constantly in the middle of the night is just preparation for when she gets here. But as I get bigger, Quinton get more and more excited. He loves to just leave his hands on my belly and feel
her move all around. I think that it is her way of saying hello to her daddy. But I hope you all are well and had a fabulous Labor Day weekend and we'll let you know when Sydney gets here!!!I thought it it would be funny to put up a picture of me and my sister when we were at the same stage of pregnancy. Of course this is my first and this is her 5th, but it is just fun to compare the pictures. Personally, I think that I am just a little bit smaller. But

get is more diapers and wipes. From what I have heard, newborns go through their diapers like crazy. There was so many gifts there at the baby shower that it took me a hour and half to open all the presents. All I have to say is that Sydney is going to be one styling' little girl. I counted yesterday and she has 13 bibs and 15 hats. Yep, we have a bib and hat for every occasion. I love it. Now is the fun part of getting everything ready and put in its place. My goal is to have 
everyth
ing ready by the end of August, so I can just sit, relax and wait for Sydney to come. Thank you to everyone that has contributed to Sydney's closet or baby room. Quinton and I are both so grateful for all of our family and friends, we are truly blessed. Thank you again to everyone that has given us a gift for Sydney. We love you all.

ove all the time, it is less kicking and more moving and stretching now. She has definitely gotten bigger, Quinton and I guess that she is about 3- 3 1/2 lbs now. She gets the hiccups about 2-3 times a day, which is the best way for other people to feel her. Quinton still does not understand how she gets the hiccups, I just know that she gets them all the time. She now has moved up into my rib cage, which starts the uncomfortable part of pregnancy now. But I just love feeling her move inside my tummy all day long, it is one of the best parts of being pregnant. But I hope you all enjoy the pictures and best wishes to you all.
y sister. The 5 1/2 days that they were there went by way to fast. Fast or not it was wonderful so see my sister and her family again. Needless to say my nieces and nephews were a lot bigger since the last time I saw them. My sister's oldest daughter Emily is as tall as me and she is only 10. A
nd I guess it helps that her dad is also 6'5'', but either way I was shocked how tall they all are. One of the best things about their visit to Colorado was that my sister got to meet Quinton my husband for the first time. Now we have two tall guys in the family, David and now Quinton who is 6'3''. We all just sat around playing with all the grandkids and just catching up on the last 5 yea
rs since we have seen each other. It was fun that one night all of the kids my sister, brother, spouses and myself were all able to go out to dinner. Yep, all adults and no kids. My parents loved it, and it was just fun talking about the good ole' days when w
e were all little. We also had a chance to have professional family pictures done (which were a blast) and then we all came up to Woodland Park where Quinton and I live for a picnic at the park. After sitting for all the pictures and a 45 min. ride up to the park, everyone was ready to just go and play. It was great. That Sunday for the first time in about 5-8 
years my parents went to church with all 3 of their children. It was truly a treasured moment. I think that all of the grandkids favorite times were all playing together and just goofing off. They loved posing for pictures and just being kids. L
ater that day we all went on a family walk (excluding me and Quinton because my feet were too swollen). I think that everyone underestimated how long a little 1 mile walk would take with 18 people. I was just glad that I was able to see my sister and her wonderful family again. It was such a wonderful time that Quinton and myself will always treasure. I am especially grateful that my brother-in-law David was able to spend some of his vacation time with us. Especially since the army only le
t him come back to the states for two weeks, while he is still serving in Iraq for the total time of almost a year. I know t
hat my sister Tara loved having him home for those precious 2 weeks and I am deeply grateful that he is serving and representing our country well. Thanks David for all you have done and still do, we all love you so much. The visit went by so fast but I am just grateful that we were able to spend time with each other and reunite those family bonds again. There is truly nothing better than family in this world and I am so grateful for mine. They all are my rock and they can b

their travel trailer, or camping while being 7 months pregnant could be a little more difficult. We went camping up in a canyon near Beauna Vista. It was absolutely beautiful there with all the tree's, flowers, mountains and rivers. However I
do have to say that the prison there in Beauna Vista is not as pretty as its surrounding. My family and I enjoyed walking around the town and our campground. I do believe that we had one of the best campsite's because we had a beautiful river just about a 100 feet from our trailer. My niece and nephew loved walking and playing near the river. After seeing all the local attractions my family and I went back to our campsite. We were planni
ng to roast marshmallows and have s'mores but the rain decided otherwise. Thank goodness the next day was beautiful. We went to a little ghost town called St. Elmo's and walked around. At the town you could see all the historic buildings from the 1800's, hummingbirds flying so close to you and y
ou could even feed a local chipmunk colony. Just for 50 cents you can buy chipmunk food and the chipmunks will eat right out of your hand. It was an awesome experience and I think that my sister-in-law enjoyed it more then her two kids that were there. After 
a long day and finally being able to roast marshmallows that night we all went to bed. About 15 min after we all got to bed we had a knock at our trailer door. It was a local fireman saying that there was a flash flood warning where we were staying and had to immidently evacuate the campground and go to town ( which was about 20 min. away). I seriously thought he was joking and soon learned that he was not. So at 11:30 pm we all packed up and headed to town. Not wanting to go to the rec. center my family headed to the local LDS church where we were planning to attend the next morning. So to beat the rush we spent the night in the church parking lot. Needless to say we were not late to church that Sunday. But overall we all had a great time being with each other and having fun. This camping trip will definitely be unforgettable. 
Sydney. I do have to say that having a girl is getting me more and more excited about having a baby. There is so many cute things you can buy for little girls. I LOVE IT!!! And of course having all these baby showers is getting more excited as well. All I have to say is that Sydney is going to be one styling little girl with
all the cute clothes that she got. I can hardly wait to see them on her. Sydney is getting bigger and bigger, and as a result I feel bigger and bigger. But no matter how many times I tell Quinton that I am huge my GYN Doctor says
I am right on schedule. Anyhow I still feel like I am huge. But I am so thankful for everyone that came to the baby shower in Woodland Park. It was fun to see everyone there just having fun and talking. Having so many friends re insures me that Sydney will have many wonderful family and friends here to welcome her when so comes into this world.
