My sweet little girl

One of my favorite things about Sydney is her adorable laugh ( I think that most parents would agree in saying that their kids laugh is the best sound in the world). However, Sydney's laugh can make any day a better day. One particular day she was extra giggly, so naturally I had to take a video. I hope you all enjoy this video of our little girl. Happy Holiday's

Sweet Carolina...

As some of you know Quinton is very modest about how good of a guitar player he is. He is so awesome and he really does not like me to put video's of him playing for some reason. However, I am very proud of my husband and all of his accomplishments. So here is a video of Quinton playing with his friend Brian, they are play the song "Sweet Carolina" by Ryan Adams. It is one of my favorite songs that he plays. Here is a little tid bit... hope you all enjoy it.

Orange things and What's that?

So our little girl is now 14 months old. She is no longer a baby but turning into a little girl. Her favorite thing to say right now is "What's that?". And she Say's it all day everyday to everything. I do have to say it is cute however, after hearing like the 200Th "what's that" it can get a little old. Here is a sample of a conversation that we have with Sydney countless times a day
Sydney- What's that?
Mom/Dad- the tree
Sydney- Wow...
I love how she says wow after we tell her what it is. And for those people that have noticed that Sydney has sorta of a orange glow about her, you are not miss taken. She already has beautiful olive colored skin, however, since she loves carrots, squash ( orange things) and have eaten them so much for so long. Her skin is orange. The really funny thing is that my mom also has orange skin because she juices carrots every morning. We are just a orange family. The orange is not harmful in anyway for those who where wondering, and it will eventually fade away. But our little girl is growing and developing everyday. She loves puppies and now is not afraid of them and will pet them and tell them to sit. It is so cute. Sydney is the joy in our lives, she truly is such a happy little girl.

Happy Thanksgiving

We all hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving... we did. This year Quinton and I went to his parents house for Thanksgiving. It was a great time that we all had, for the first time I made stuffing ( well Stove top with cranberries, apples and nuts) and it actually tasted good. I also made homemade truffles. My mom found this super easy recipe and I had to try it out. Even though I need to work on their presentation ( they kind of looked like poop), but they tasted awesome!!! I am so proud of myself for trying to expand my horizons. And to top it all off, we had our first real snow too. It is highly uncommon for us to go this long without snow. We normally start getting it around October. So for us to go to Thanksgiving was awesome, but I do have to say it was nice seeing all the snow everywhere. It was so beautiful. Quinton and I are truly thankful for all the wonderful family that we have in our lives, and to have them so close. I know that Sydney's life is blessed even more because of all the loving Grandparents and all the rest of the family that she has so close to her. We could not of asked for better families.

Nonnie is here!!!

A couple of weeks ago Quinton's Grandma or Nonnie as she likes to be called came into town for a short visit. It was so wonderful to see her and I know Sydney was excited. The last time Nonnie saw Sydney was when she was about 2 weeks old. So a lot has changed since then. Even though Sydney only let nonnie hold her for about 5 min. total, it was a great time that we all spent as a family. Quinton's brother Ashley, his wife Bianca and their boys Addison and Aaron all came up to for the night. We even had a little jam session, Quinton's friend and band member Brian came up with his girlfriend Whitney as well. Even though it was a short visit the memories were great.

Tag, I'm it!!!

So, I recently have been tagged my cousins wife and friend Erin. So here goes...

Here are the rules:
Link the Person who Tagged you.
Mention rules on your blog.
Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.
Leave a comment to let them know

1. I cannot go to bed with dishes in the sink ( yep, I get this one from my mom). Even if I have to do the dishes at 11 pm at night. I have to have the kitchen clean. There is something in me that just cannot stand waking up in the morning and having a dirty kitchen.

2. Everytime before I go to bed I have to look out our window. I seriously cannot go to bed without looking out our window. I know it is so weird, but I cannot help it. I guess I have to see if anything is going on and I always check out our cars.

3. Yet again, another bedtime routine. I cannot go to bed if our closet doors are open. I am consistently closing them all day. For some reason I do not like them open, especially at night. Maybe I think that monsters will come and get me if i do leave them open?

4. I always check to see if my Zipper on my pants is down. Consistently all day. Yet again, I don't know why but I am so paranoid that one day my zipper will be down.

5. When I first meet a person I first say hi and look at their face. Second I check out their shoes. It does not matter who the person is, if I know them really well or if they are a stranger. I will always check out a person shoes EVERYTIME if say hi to a person. It is not a mean thing or anything, I just have to see what kind of shoes they are wearing.

6. I am frantic about the car and our front door being locked. As soon as you come into our house I will automatically lock you in, everytime, without fail. I am always asking Quinton if the car door and front door locked. I guess it is one of those things I do automatically and then don't remember if i did it or not.

So i just realized that I am a lot weirder then I thought. No wonder Quinton is always laughing at me and all the funny things I do.

Tag you're it. Amber, Tiffany, Jennifer, Liz, Noelle and Ashlie.

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween Everybody!!! Quinton and I both hope that everybody had a great Halloween. Sydney did... for sure. This year she dressed up as a lil' witch ( a good witch that is). She loved her dress and even though she had a matching hat, it did not stay on too long. Quinton and I also dressed up, Quinton went as a pirate and I went as a 70's chic. I love dressing up and it was a blast dressing up as a family. Even though none of us matched. We all went over to our church for our annual ward " Trunk or Treat". There were tons of games for all the kids and then when it is dark everyone decorated their trunks and kids went trick or treating to every one's trunks. It was so much fun and we had a huge turn out. The weirdest thing about Halloween for us this year was it was actually warm. To the point kids could actually wear the costumes and have them be seen as opposed to being completely covered by coats and everything. It was great time that we got to spend together. Sydney really did not know what to do since she is only 13 months old. However, we still tried to do "some" trick or treating. I think she had a great time seeing all of her friends dressed up too. Well hope everyone had a safe Halloween.

Congrats to everyone and I am so happy for you all.

Our little girl in one year old!!!!

Yep, you all read that right. Our little Sydney turned 1 year old on September 25 ( I know I am a little late posting this). I just can not believe that she is 1 year old already. People say how time just flies and it is true. Sydney is no longer our little baby, she is turning into our little girl. She loves her daddy so much and still gets the biggest smile on her face every time he walks through the door ( don't worry she loves me just as much). She has two bottom teeth and her two top teeth will poke through any day now. She weighs 21 lbs of love and is 29 inches long. She has come a long way since she was just our little baby that weighed 5 lbs 11 oz.... a LONG way! She loves music and dances to it anytime she hears it, whether it is at church, car or on the T.V. She truly has music in her heart. Even on occasion she sings, if you are lucky enough to hear it. Hearing her sing is probably one of the most wonderful sounds she makes, I love it. She still has her blond, curly hair and the bluest eyes you have ever seen. Her newest thing is that she loves puppies, any commercial that she sees and has puppies she starts barking and just starts giggling. She is the pride and joy of our lives and we can not ever imagine our lives without her.

For her birthday we had all of Quinton and my family over and some friends to my parents house and had a great party. We played games, opened many presents, had great food and the best part.... her cupcake cake. She loved it... chocolate and icing .... everything. However, the huge diaper rash she got afterwards was not as much fun, but she loved her cupcake. Thank you to everyone that came and sent cards to Sydney. She loved everything that she got. It truly was a special day filled with lots of family, friends and most of all... love.

She Walks!!!!

About a month ago Sydney started to take her first steps. It is truly amazing how all of a sudden everything just clicks and they are on a go. We were fortunate enough that Sydney was in a walking mood when I had my camera out. Hope you all enjoy this video that I know Quinton and I will always cherish. Have fun.

4 Generations...

A couple of weeks ago my Grandma Grace came to Colorado with my Aunt and Uncle for a short visit. It was absolutely wonderful to see them all. I have not seen my Grandma, Uncle and Aunt for about 4-5 years now. Although it was a short visit the memories were great. Sydney got to meet one of her Great Grandma's ( she has 3...yep 3). My Grandma also got to meet Quinton as well. It truly was a wonderful site to see and to have 4 generations under one roof. My Grandma is one of the cutest grandma's you will ever see, she is about 4'11'' and is 85 years old. She is a little pistol, and we love it. It was great just to sit around and tell old stories about when my brother, sister and I were all little and visiting them is Arkansas. It truly was a great weekend that I will treasure for always.

It is a Miracle...

This is a very exciting post that I get to do today. Why, you ask? Our little girl is finally crawling. Yep, you read that right, she is crawling. Actually she started crawling while we were in Spain, so she was about 10 monhs old or about a months ago ( I guess she only wanted to crawl on Marble). It seemed like all of a sudden everything just clicked and she was crawling, pulling up on everything and now she even walks while holding on to just one hand now. So, needless to say our little Sydney is getting into EVERYTHING.. and I mean everything. Some would say it is about time since she is such an easy baby and I never had to correct her on anything. Sydney now has two bottom teeth, it is so cute. Her hair is finally coming in more, to the point where I can actually put it up in bows now. I love it!!! Quinton and I are just having a blast with all the fun stuff she is doing now like if you ask her what a puppy Say's she goes " woof woof", still calls me Mom, loves kitty's and puppies. Here is a little video of Sydney when she first started to crawl. Enjoy it.

We're Back!!!

Hi everyone or Hola. We actually have been back for about 2 weeks now, it is just been crazy since we have been back. Being on vacation for 3 weeks and trying to get everything back in order has been interesting. We had a absolute wonderful time in Spain, it truly looks like paradise and everyone that we met were so nice to us. We stayed with Quinton's good friend Marco and his family in their beautiful penthouse. For about the first week there we just relaxed and really did not do much. However, the second and third week we did tons and tons of stuff. We went to their swimming pool, beach, zoo, water park, Picasso Museum, and took a lot of day trips to little towns nearby.

One of things I love the most about Spain are their beautiful parks that are everywhere. It seems like on every corner there is another park. It is great and Sydney loved it even more. One of my favorite things that we did there was just spending time together as a family. Sydney loved to have her daddy around so much and needless to say, if she was not a daddy's girl before, she is now. Quinton is such a amazing father, he mostly took care of Sydney while we were there ( since it was my vacation too). However, by the end of 3 weeks I was ready to go back to how things used to be. I do have to say I have never been out to eat so much in my entire life... It was nice. We love this little town about 45 minutes away called Rhonda. It is probably one of the most beautiful little towns I have ever seen. Quinton and I went there twice since we loved it so much. Rhonda has the oldest bullring in Spain, it was beautiful in architecture however, we did not want to see any bullfighting. I think that would give Sydney and I nightmares. Some of the other towns we went to was Tarifa, Malaga, and Fuengirola.

I could go on forever talking about Spain and everything we did but I will just let everyone look at the pictures. It was an absolutely wonderful time that I got to spend with Quinton and Sydney. We all will have wonderful memories that we made and are thankful for all of the new friends we met there. Click one of the Albums to see most of our Pictures. Album 1. Album 2. Album 3
