A little comparison

I thought it it would be funny to put up a picture of me and my sister when we were at the same stage of pregnancy. Of course this is my first and this is her 5th, but it is just fun to compare the pictures. Personally, I think that I am just a little bit smaller. But I hope you all are doing well.

My last Baby Shower

On August 11, 2007 I was able to have my last baby shower. Quinton and I still can not believe all the love and support we have gotten from all of our family and friends. This shower was by far the largest, we had 31 wonderful ladies come and celebrate with us.The decorations and everything was beautiful. Needless to say, the only thing Quinton and I need to get is more diapers and wipes. From what I have heard, newborns go through their diapers like crazy. There was so many gifts there at the baby shower that it took me a hour and half to open all the presents. All I have to say is that Sydney is going to be one styling' little girl. I counted yesterday and she has 13 bibs and 15 hats. Yep, we have a bib and hat for every occasion. I love it. Now is the fun part of getting everything ready and put in its place. My goal is to have everything ready by the end of August, so I can just sit, relax and wait for Sydney to come. Thank you to everyone that has contributed to Sydney's closet or baby room. Quinton and I are both so grateful for all of our family and friends, we are truly blessed. Thank you again to everyone that has given us a gift for Sydney. We love you all.

A Pregnancy Update

Hey everyone, here is a pregnancy update for you all. I am now 32 weeks ( only 8 weeks to go) and doing well. I have discovered that being on my feet more and more can make then incredible large. Yep, I get swollen feet. And within the last month or so I have developed Carpal tunnel Syndrome. Which for those who don't know, my fingers are always numb and get worse the more I use them. But if it is the price I have to pay to bring a beautiful baby girl into this world, then I will do it. I do have to say that I can not complain to much because I know there are ladies out there that have had worse pregnancies then me. I can feel Sydney move all the time, it is less kicking and more moving and stretching now. She has definitely gotten bigger, Quinton and I guess that she is about 3- 3 1/2 lbs now. She gets the hiccups about 2-3 times a day, which is the best way for other people to feel her. Quinton still does not understand how she gets the hiccups, I just know that she gets them all the time. She now has moved up into my rib cage, which starts the uncomfortable part of pregnancy now. But I just love feeling her move inside my tummy all day long, it is one of the best parts of being pregnant. But I hope you all enjoy the pictures and best wishes to you all.

A family Reunion

At the end of July my older sister Tara, her husband David and their 5 children came from Alabama to come visit us. It has been around 5 1/2 years since the last time that I saw my sister. The 5 1/2 days that they were there went by way to fast. Fast or not it was wonderful so see my sister and her family again. Needless to say my nieces and nephews were a lot bigger since the last time I saw them. My sister's oldest daughter Emily is as tall as me and she is only 10. And I guess it helps that her dad is also 6'5'', but either way I was shocked how tall they all are. One of the best things about their visit to Colorado was that my sister got to meet Quinton my husband for the first time. Now we have two tall guys in the family, David and now Quinton who is 6'3''. We all just sat around playing with all the grandkids and just catching up on the last 5 years since we have seen each other. It was fun that one night all of the kids my sister, brother, spouses and myself were all able to go out to dinner. Yep, all adults and no kids. My parents loved it, and it was just fun talking about the good ole' days when we were all little. We also had a chance to have professional family pictures done (which were a blast) and then we all came up to Woodland Park where Quinton and I live for a picnic at the park. After sitting for all the pictures and a 45 min. ride up to the park, everyone was ready to just go and play. It was great. That Sunday for the first time in about 5-8 years my parents went to church with all 3 of their children. It was truly a treasured moment. I think that all of the grandkids favorite times were all playing together and just goofing off. They loved posing for pictures and just being kids. Later that day we all went on a family walk (excluding me and Quinton because my feet were too swollen). I think that everyone underestimated how long a little 1 mile walk would take with 18 people. I was just glad that I was able to see my sister and her wonderful family again. It was such a wonderful time that Quinton and myself will always treasure. I am especially grateful that my brother-in-law David was able to spend some of his vacation time with us. Especially since the army only let him come back to the states for two weeks, while he is still serving in Iraq for the total time of almost a year. I know that my sister Tara loved having him home for those precious 2 weeks and I am deeply grateful that he is serving and representing our country well. Thanks David for all you have done and still do, we all love you so much. The visit went by so fast but I am just grateful that we were able to spend time with each other and reunite those family bonds again. There is truly nothing better than family in this world and I am so grateful for mine. They all are my rock and they can build me up in ways that no one can. Thanks for everyone who came and made wonderful memories that I will never forget. I love you all so much.

Child Family Campout

In July my parents, brother and his family and me all went out on a camping trip. It was so nice just to get out and just be with nature. Thank goodness that my parents brought their travel trailer, or camping while being 7 months pregnant could be a little more difficult. We went camping up in a canyon near Beauna Vista. It was absolutely beautiful there with all the tree's, flowers, mountains and rivers. However I do have to say that the prison there in Beauna Vista is not as pretty as its surrounding. My family and I enjoyed walking around the town and our campground. I do believe that we had one of the best campsite's because we had a beautiful river just about a 100 feet from our trailer. My niece and nephew loved walking and playing near the river. After seeing all the local attractions my family and I went back to our campsite. We were planning to roast marshmallows and have s'mores but the rain decided otherwise. Thank goodness the next day was beautiful. We went to a little ghost town called St. Elmo's and walked around. At the town you could see all the historic buildings from the 1800's, hummingbirds flying so close to you and you could even feed a local chipmunk colony. Just for 50 cents you can buy chipmunk food and the chipmunks will eat right out of your hand. It was an awesome experience and I think that my sister-in-law enjoyed it more then her two kids that were there. After a long day and finally being able to roast marshmallows that night we all went to bed. About 15 min after we all got to bed we had a knock at our trailer door. It was a local fireman saying that there was a flash flood warning where we were staying and had to immidently evacuate the campground and go to town ( which was about 20 min. away). I seriously thought he was joking and soon learned that he was not. So at 11:30 pm we all packed up and headed to town. Not wanting to go to the rec. center my family headed to the local LDS church where we were planning to attend the next morning. So to beat the rush we spent the night in the church parking lot. Needless to say we were not late to church that Sunday. But overall we all had a great time being with each other and having fun. This camping trip will definitely be unforgettable.

My 2nd Baby Shower

On July 7th I had another baby shower. My friends Tiffany, Alisha and Tiffany's mom Claudia threw it for me. It was so much fun to see family and friends there celebrating little Sydney. I do have to say that having a girl is getting me more and more excited about having a baby. There is so many cute things you can buy for little girls. I LOVE IT!!! And of course having all these baby showers is getting more excited as well. All I have to say is that Sydney is going to be one styling little girl with all the cute clothes that she got. I can hardly wait to see them on her. Sydney is getting bigger and bigger, and as a result I feel bigger and bigger. But no matter how many times I tell Quinton that I am huge my GYN Doctor says I am right on schedule. Anyhow I still feel like I am huge. But I am so thankful for everyone that came to the baby shower in Woodland Park. It was fun to see everyone there just having fun and talking. Having so many friends re insures me that Sydney will have many wonderful family and friends here to welcome her when so comes into this world.

Our 4th of July was so much fun. Both Quinton and I had our families down to join us. We were able to go to town and see the local 4th of July festivities face painting, kettle corn, greasy food and music, it was all there. We ran into several of our friends and it was just fun walking around in the hot sun. After all the festivities in town all of our families went back to our apartment for a little R & R. After resting for a little bit we went over to a ward members house for a BBQ. The food was good and the company was even better. There is almost nothing better then a good BBQ with some great friends to share it with. The boys in the family decided that it would be fun to go fishing. So the men left and the women stayed and did what we do best, talk. After all the hamburger's, salads, smore's and fishing once again all of us went back to our apartment to watch the fireworks. Lucky for us the town was shooting off the fire works right behind our apartment. Needless to say we all had a front row view of the fireworks. It was so much fun and I can honestly say that I have never seen fireworks like that up close. It was a wonderful day just relaxing and spending time with family and friends. Quinton and I will never forget the wonderful memories that were made that day.

My last day at Kirkland's

Sad to say that I no longer work at Kirkland's Home anymore. I was going to try to stay there a little bit longer, but my legs and back would not allow it. I worked at Kirkland's for about a year and a half and loved it. The ladies there are absolutely awesome and I am going to miss them very much. All of them have become like 2nd family to me. If anyone needs any decorating advice or idea's the ladies at Kirkland's Home are wonderful. Besides they can add some spice into anyone's day with their warm smiles and great personalities. I wish them all the best in everything that they do and hope that they don't forget about a lil' pregnant chick up in the mountains.

Our First Blog...

Quinton and I got married on March 18, 2006. I can't believe that we have already passed our one year anniversary. It is amazing how time flyes. We currently live in Colorado and always enjoy the fabulous view of the mountains. It is great that both Quinton and I have our families close by, so we always get to see them. Quinton currently still works for the Bishop of our ward four days a week building homes, decks and anything else you can think of. He is really good at it and loves being outside all the time. Quinton is still a hair stylist two days a week as well. It is great living with a guy that can do my hair better than me. It is amazing how talented he is at everything. If there is any time left in a week Quinton plays with a couple of guys in a band. Yep, he is a jack of all trades. Construction, hairstylist and playing the guitar, Quinton can do it all.

As for myself, I am loving married life and highly recommend it. It has been nice to live up in the mountains as opposed to the city life. It took me a little while to get used to small town living, but I absolutely love it now. I was fortunate to have a great job almost two years now and work with wonderful people. However, when I found out that I was pregnant, my time there was coming to a close. I am so excited to become a stay-at-home mom. For those who already don't know, I am 25 weeks pregnant and due October 2, 2007. We are having a little girl ( I wanted my first to be a little girl so bad) and her name will be Sydney Malia Montgomery. She kicks all the time and we just got to the point where Quinton can now feel her kicking as well. It is so exciting to see his face when he can feel her. It gets me more and more excited to become parents. She is already 1 pound and 5 ounces and is about 10-12 inches long. Sydney will be the first granddaughter and great granddaughter on Quinton's side of the family. Both Quinton and I can't wait till Sydney finally get here.

Quinton and I have been fortunate to go on many trips while we have been married. It was nice to have those little vacations before our family starts growing. We have adventured to Utah, Durango and Estes Park Colo and even a camping trip with some friends of ours as well. The most recent trip was to Marbella Spain. It was my first time going outside the United States. I did not realize how "Americanized" I was. It opened my eyes to a whole new world. It was absolutely beautiful there. I loved seeing the ocean and just the whole splendor of it all. However, I would not recommend flying international while you are pregnant. Your feet can swell up like crazy. Quinton and I have been blessed to have such wonderful opportunities to visit such amazing and beautiful places since we have been married.
