I can't eat what???

So much has happened within the last 2 weeks in our family. Bella has been an amazing baby, only wakes up once a night never really fusses that much and such sweet smiles. Then I started to notice that she is starting to spit up a lot more frequently then she use to. Then came the crying after she was spiting up. So I took her to the doctors office and found out she has acid reflux and was put on baby Zantac. It seemed to work and everything went back to normal. Then after we got back from our trip to Utah I noticed that Bella  had not gone poo in a couple of days. So after calling the pediatrician and trying many different stuff myself she still was not pooping. So then she was put on a laxative which seemed to help her go to the bathroom a couple days later. I noticed that she would always start crying when she needed to go ( and I mean cry and scream) when she needed to go and still could not have a poo on her own. After many doctors visits I got sent to a Pediatric G I doctor in denver and found out that our poor Bella is allergic to the milk protein that my milk produces. So I was given 2 choices #1 go on a special diet and see if that helps #2 stop nursing and put her on a super expensive hypoallergenic formula. I chose #1 since Bella is an amazing nurser and how hard can a special diet be? Well this is what I can NOT eat, dairy, wheat, eggs, soy, nuts, corn, and  shelled fish ( which I don't eat anyways). So what can I eat? Meat, fruit, vegetable, rice, and potatoes. I do have to admit that I was like WHAT!!!! But this is for my child and I will do anything to help her. If you know me at all I am a huge junk food eater, my mother is the exact opposite and basically eats this diet anyways, so she was really exited that we get to eat the same way. Good thing is  that I only have to be on this diet for a week then go back to the doctor and see if it is working ( there is only a 30% success rate with this diet) and if it is not working then she has to go on the formula. I am so sad, my sweet little Bella is in so much pain and it is the saddest thing to see. She still spits up all the time, her throat hurts every time she does spit up, still can not go poo by herself so I have to help her( trust me you do not want details). So if you all can please keep our little girl in your prayers that would be wonderful and I will keep you all updated on her condition.

Sorry, that sounds so sad. Blake had acid reflux and he was in pain all the time from it (spitting up all the time etc). I tried that diet for a bit to see if it would help the reflux, so I know how hard it is to stick to. Day three into it, I wanted a piece of chocolate BAD! Good luck with everything, it's so hard to see your little baby suffering. Hopefully they find something that helps her.

I couldn't do dairy with any of my kids until they started solids. You might just try cutting out milk-mine were constipated and gassy when I did. Good luck-call me if you need to!

Oh Steph I'm sorry that's really poopy. Phoenix had the same problem when he was little for us though I just couldn't eat or drink any dairy at all. It was kind of hard for me because I love a glass of chocolate milk every now and then =) When I stopped nursing him he could only do soy formula. The good thing though is it tapers off once they reach a year of age. Phoenix drinks whole milk now and he has no problems at all. If you go through WIC I know they can help you with the formula.

That's so sad! Poor little Bella. I guess we'll have to think of doing something else this weekend instead of going and seeing Night and the Museum and eating a ton of popcorn... Maybe the pool??? Who knows. But I'm soooo excited!!! I can't wait to see you guys!!!!! Give Bella and Sydney a big hug for us!!!!!
